Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domains can be personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to acquire john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domain names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can order your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar company and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific prerequisites on who can grab a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
