It restricts the access that a script has just to its own folder, so in case one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but will not be able to view any other content part of your account, which means that the damage will be minimal. Needless to say, using JailHost does not substitute the safety measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, but it'll allow you to restrict any damage to one site only.

JailHost in Hosting

If you host your sites inside a hosting account from our firm, you can protect them by using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. This option is provided with all packages and can be enabled for every folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so that files for various websites never get mixed up like it regularly happens with other Control Panels. We have not activated JailHost by default because you may use scripts which need access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option could interfere with their proper functioning, but securing all of the other folders is very simple. If any secured website gets hacked for some reason, we'll be able to restore it in a short time as we will have multiple daily backups of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups through Hepsia.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

All our semi-dedicated hosting packages come with JailHost included by default. The option is not enabled automatically when you add a domain as you may need to use a specific script which accesses different folders in the account, yet you'll be able to activate it effortlessly via your Hepsia Control Panel and protect your other websites with just a couple of clicks. Hepsia is much better to use for those who have multiple websites since it keeps them in separate folders and doesn't keep the files for several Internet sites in the very same folder as it often happens with many other Control Panels. This enables us to offer you JailHost as all folders can be isolated from each other. In case that any one of your sites gets hacked, we can almost instantly restore it because of the multiple daily backup copies that we will keep and meanwhile your attacker will not be able to do further damage because the access to your other Internet sites will be stopped.
