Every now and then you may have to block specific third parties from accessing your Internet sites. There are a number of automatic bots which crawl the Internet, for example, and generate fake visits and website traffic. There are also spammers that leave links to shady Internet sites as comments to website articles. This sort of things may greatly undermine your hard work, as nobody likes to visit a site with many fake comments, plus the increased site traffic from both spammers and bots could generate high load on the web server in which your site is hosted, which can result in your site not working correctly. One of the best solutions in such cases is to block the IP addresses that generate the fake traffic, in order to be sure that the visits to your site are authentic.

IP Blocking in Hosting

If you have a hosting account with us and you want to block one or a few IP addresses, you may use the IP Blocking tool, that's included in our in-house built Hepsia CP. Using a pretty simple interface, you'll be able to prevent any IP from accessing your content even if you have not had a web hosting account before. All it requires to do this is to log in to your Control Panel, to check out the IP Blocking section, to pick a particular domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to input the IP address. You won't have to do anything complex if you would like to block an entire network - you will simply have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot shall block the entire range from to All blocked IPs shall be listed inside the same exact section, so you'll be able to remove any one of them from the blacklist with just a mouse click.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, included with our Linux semi-dedicated hosting, will enable you to solve the challenge with unwanted traffic very efficiently. It comes with an IP blocking tool in which you can add IP addresses with just several clicks. All domains and subdomains you have within the account shall be listed in a drop-down menu, so you only need to select the one you need and then type the IP address that needs to be blocked. If you wish to block an entire range, a C-class network for example, you just have to enter the first three octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. That shall block all 254 addresses, so you will not need to enter them manually. Because all the IPs you include in this section shall be listed, you may easily unblock any of them by clicking the Delete button related to the given IP.
